The National Investigation Agency will produce the mastermind of the Rameshwaram Cafe blast and his accomplice in Bengaluru Court on Saturday. The central agency arrested the key accused near Kolkata on Friday.

The accused, Adbul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa and Mussavir Hussain Shazib, were arrested from a hotel in Purba Medinipur district's seaside tourist town Digha, around 190 km from Kolkata, the NIA said. Taahaa was the mastermind behind the planning and execution of the blast and Shazib placed the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the cafe, officials said.

Mussavir Hussain Shazib was the one who placed the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the cafe and Adbul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa was the mastermind, the NIA said in a statement.

A Kolkata city court granted a three-day transit remand to the two accused in the Bengaluru cafe blast case on Friday, allowing the NIA to take them to the Karnataka capital for further investigation.

NIA identified the key suspects in the case recently and announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information on each of the absconders. According to NIA, both the accused hail from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district of Karnataka.

A low-intensity blast occurred in Bengaluru’s famous eatery in Brookefield on March 1. As many as nine people, including seven customers, were injured in the blast. A woman who was sitting near the bag sustained grievous injuries.
