After the Delhi High Court setback for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, the Aam Aadmi Party is set to move the Supreme Court against his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.

Senior AAP leader and Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said that the police case was the "biggest political conspiracy" to finish the party.

"We respect the institution of the high court but we respectfully submit that we do not agree with its order and will move the Supreme Court against it," said Bharadwaj. While addressing a press conference, he also expressed his hope for the legal system to provide justice.

"The so-called excise policy scam is the biggest political conspiracy to finish off the party and Kejriwal," Bharadwaj added.

AAP leader Jasmine Shah said that the investigation over the alleged excise policy scam has been going on for two years and yet ED and CBI were not able to recover even one rupee of illegal money till now. "Therefore, they hunt down the top leaders of a national party and put them in jail as part of a conspiracy," he added.

"The entire matter is not related to money laundering, rather it's the biggest political conspiracy of the country. It's a conspiracy to crush and finish off Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP governments in Delhi and Punjab," said Bharadwaj.

Delhi HC dismissed Kejriwal's plea challenging his ED arrest in March. Hours after HC refused to grant him protection from coercive action by central agencies, the ED officials arrested Kejriwal on March 21. He was sent to judicial custody on April 1 after he was produced in the trial court on the expiry of his ED custody.
