The Bharatiya Janata Party sprang yet another big surprise on Tuesday when it picked first-time MLA Bhajanlal Sharma as the chief minister of Rajasthan.
Sharma’s name was announced after a meeting of Union minister Rajnath Singh and other party observers—Vinod Tawde and Saroj Pande in Jaipur. Union minister and BJP’s Rajasthan election-in-charge Pralhad Joshi was also present at the meeting.
"I am very happy. He will take the state ahead. His name was proposed by Vasundhara ji and I forwarded the name...I am not in line for a minister post," said Rajasthan BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena.
