'Eat Kochi Eat' vlogger Rahul N. Kutty's death has been confirmed to be a suicide, local media outlets quoted police as saying. The Kerala food vlogger, 33, was found hanging in the hall of his house in Kochi on Friday night.

Police who are yet to ascertain what led the vlogger to kill himself said the mysteries will be unravelled after looking into Rahul's phone records, reported Manorama Online.

On Sunday, police went to Rahul's house in Madavana and spoke to his relatives. The family hinted about financial troubles over a recently opened coffee shop in Panampilly Nagar wherein he was a partner. They urged police officials to bring clarity regarding the vlogger's death.

Rahul was allegedly seen with a few people at a hotel in Kochi on the night of his death and he was visibly upset.

He had told his friends about contemplating suicide, according to police. Rahul's friends had reportedly called his father, Narayanan Kutty, as he did not pick up their calls after leaving the hotel. It was the father who found Rahul hanging at his home. His wife, Sripriya, and son Ishith, 2, were at her home.

He was rushed to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Launched in 2015, 'Eat Kochi Eat' is an online group where viewers are introduced to the citys' food flavours and Rahul was at its helm. He was also a member of Culinary Culture, a community of food lovers.
