10 policemen, driver killed in Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada

In a shocking incident, ten police police personnel and a driver have been killed in a blast by Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada. According to reports, they were killed when their vehicle was blown up by an improvised explosive device (IED). The District Reserve Guard personnel were returning from an anti-Maoist operation.

Responding to the news, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said is very saddening. My condolences to the bereaved families. This fight is in its last stage. Naxals won't be spared."

The incident took place under Aranpur police station limits. The attack site is around 450 km from state capital Raipur.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Baghel on the attack. “Anguished by the cowardly attack on the Chhattisgarh police at Dantewada. Have spoken to Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister and assured all possible assistance to the state government. My condolences to the bereaved family members of the martyred Jawans,” Shah tweeted.
