Opposition alleged that the budget has leaked

In a major embarrassment for Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, he read out previous budget instead of Budget 2023-24 in the assembly on Friday. The Opposition protested after the first two announcements were made by CM referring to Budget 2022-23.

Ruckus was created in the assembly by the Opposition despite Speaker C. P. Joshi asking them to maintain order in the House.

“The CM read out the old budget for eight minutes,” alleged BJP.

With the Opposition uproar continuing, the Speaker adjourned the house for 30 minutes. The BJP MLAs staged a sit-in protest inside the House.

Gehlot, who also holds the finance portfolio, was supposed to be presenting the budget on the theme of 'Bachat, Rahat, Badhat' (saving, relief and progress).

This is the last budget of the present government as the state is going for an assembly election later this year.
