With hardly two months remaining for Gujarat elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kerjiwal on Monday reached out to auto drivers and sold a dream that their children will become engineers and doctors if his party comes to power in the state.

Addressing a town hall, attended by autorickshaw drivers in Ahmedabad, Kejriwal said good quality free education will help their children become doctors and engineers and which in turn would remove poverty.

The auto drivers complained about rising prices of CNG and problems faced by them under section 188 of the IPC. They (the BJP) has said they would not give anything free, he pointed out, adding that there is no point in voting for them. "If you vote for them (the BJP), your children's future will be doomed and if you vote for the AAP then they will prosper," Delhi chief minister said.

Talking about free healthcare facilities, Kejriwal took a dig at the BJP and asked what type of Hindus they are. In our culture it is written to help those who are needing help, he said. He urged them to promote the AAP and ask each and every passenger to vote for the party. Kejriwal also reiterated the commitment of 300 units of free electricity and Rs 1000 a month for each woman above the age of 18.

"They are shameless. They enjoy 4,000 units of free electricity and they do not want that you get 300 units free," Kejriwal said, referring to lawmakers. He accepted auto driver Vikram Dantani's request of dining at the latter's residence tonight. Dantani, a fan of Kejriwal, asked if he would come to his home to have food. He accepted the invitation and said that he would be accompanied by AAP leaders Isudan Ghadvi and Gopal Italia.

Kejriwal asked the auto driver to come to pick him up at the hotel in his autorickshaw.

In the meantime, Gujarat unit of AAP has alleged that the police "illegally " raided their Ahmedabad office and searched computers and other documents on Sunday. The Ahmedabad police took to deny on social media about any such raid having been conducted.
