Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Monday, had accepted an auto rickshaw driver's invitation for a dinner at his home in Ahmedabad.

However, according to an NDTV report, the Gujarat Police asked the Delhi CM not to go ahead with the plan, citing security reasons.

The auto driver, Vikram Dantani, had requested Kejriwal to have a dinner at his home. "I am your fan. In a video I saw on social media, you went to have dinner at the home of an auto driver in Punjab. So, will you come to my home for dinner," asked Dantani.

Dantani had agreed when Kejriwal urged him to pick him up from his hotel and take him to his house in his auto.

The plan was for the CM to travel from a five-star hotel on Sindhu Bhavan Road to Dantani's house in his auto rickshaw for the 8 pm dinner.

The BJP had taken a dig at the AAP chief over him accepting the invitation, calling Kejriwal "an actor."
