NIA raids at 24 locations in Mangaluru for murder of Yuva Morcha leader

Karnataka police had earlier arrested six persons in the case

The National Investigation Agency conducted raids at 24 locations in Mangaluru in relation to the murder of a BJP Yuva Morcha leader in July.

NIA conducted raids at premises related to suspects in Puttur and Sullia in Mangaluru. Praveen Nattaru (32), a Yuva Morcha leader was hacked to death on July 26 at Bellare. ANI reported Dakshina Kannada police who were initially investigating the case arrested Zakir (29) of Savanoor and Shafiq (27) of Bellare. On August 2, the police arrested 32-year-old Saddam and 42-year-old Haris, both hailing from Pallimajalu in Bellare. All these four were said to be in contact with the assailants, ANI reported.

ANI reported that on August 7, the police arrested 22-year-old Abid of Sullia and 28-year-old Naufal of Bellare who were said to be part of the planning and recce team. The case was transferred to NIA in the beginning of August.
