President Kovind to visit Jammu today

Security has been heightened

President Ramnath Kovid will arrive in Jammu today to attend the 5th annual convocation of Indian Institute of Management, Jammu, on June 9 at Convention Centre on Canal Road. Security has been heightened in Jammu in view of the important visit.

“The president will be the chief guest on the occasion and will address the convocation,’’ a spokesperson of the IIM said.

MoS Jitendra Singh and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will be the guests of honour on the occasion.

214 students will be conferred with an MBA degree, including 77 female students. The president will also inaugurate the diversity cell at IIM Jammu.

The IIM Jammu offers a range of courses like Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, MBA (Hospital Administration and Healthcare Management), a dual degree programme in technology and management by IIM Jammu and IIT Jammu, etc.

Additional security has been deployed in Jammu to prevent any untoward incident. Security forces have set up checkpoints in the city and intelligence agencies are working in tandem with security forces.
