Delhi BJP unit spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga may have got legal protection from coercive action by the Punjab Police, but the fireworks over his arrest are continuing.

Bagga was arrested by a Punjab Police team in Delhi on Friday, but the Punjab and Haryana High Court directed late on Saturday that no coercive steps be taken against him till May 10.

Preetpal Singh Bagga, Tajinder's Bagga's father, told ANI his family was very happy with the High Court's directive. “[AAP chief] Arvind Kejriwal is scared of him as he's exposing his wrongdoings. He also tried to persuade Tajinder to join AAP, but he didn't join,” Preetpal told ANI.

Preetpal added “They (Punjab government) want to drag him in some case or the other. They will keep filing FIRs, but we are not going to stop, this fight will last long.”

Shortly after Tajinder's arrest, the BJP had alleged the Punjab Police had assaulted Preetpal.

The National Commission for Minorities is also scrutinising allegations related to the arrest of Tajinder Bagga.

NCM chairman Iqbal Singh Lalpura told ANI on Saturday it had sought a report from the Punjab government on allegations that Tajinder Bagga was not allowed to wear his turban while being arrested. It sought a report on the matter by May 14.
