Former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya remains on the warpath against the MVA government in Maharashtra, days after Shiv Sena activists attacked his vehicle in Mumbai.

Somaiya is scheduled to meet Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at 12.30pm on Wednesday. Somaiya had claimed the Mumbai Police had filed a 'fake' FIR at the Bandra police station over the incident, at the behest of Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pande.

Somaiya claimed on Tuesday that he wanted a criminal investigation against Pande and said he was meeting Koshyari to inform him about illegal practices by the police.

On April 24, Somaiya had held Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Pande responsible for the attack on his car. On Wednesday morning, ANI reported Somaiya had claimed Pande would join the Shiv Sena soon. Pande is due to retire in June.

Somaiya was quoted by ANI as saying “Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pande ordered a police officer not to register my FIR. He wants to join Shiv Sena after one-and-half months. We will go to the Governor soon and if necessary also to the Bombay High Court to discuss this matter.”
