The Congress high command will meet today to decide whether it will accept poll strategist Prashant Kishor's proposal to revamp the party ahead of the 2024 general election, NDTV reported. Senior leaders P. Chidambaram, K.C. Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik, Ambika Soni, Jairam Ramesh, Digvijaya Singh and Randeep Singh Surjewala are expected to attend the meet.

Earlier reports, citing inside Congress sources, had claimed that Kishor's induction into the party was as good as done. What caused the change of heart now? The election strategist had held talks with ruling TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao over two days. On top of it, I-PAC had also signed up a contract with TRS, ahead of assembly elections next year.

Senior Congress leader Manickam Tagore had indirectly hit out at Kishor for the same.

CM Rao had said in March that Kishor is working with him on bringing a 'parivartan' (change) in the entire country. Both were working together in Telangana also. Rao had described Kishor as his best friend for the last seven-eight years and praised the latter for his commitment to a cause.

Rao has been working to bring together various non-BJP parties together against the saffron party's alleged anti-people policies and to usher in a "qualitative change" in the country.
