Reacting to Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's offer that he would like to have a televised debate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi if it would prove beneficial in solving the problems between the two countries, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, on Tuesday, pointed out that no issues are ever resolved in Indian television debates.

Taking a dig at Indian media, the Thiruvananthapuram MP said issues are only "exacerbated," when they are discussed on Indian TV.

"Dear  @ImranKhanPTI agree that "jaw-jaw is better than war-war", but no issues are ever resolved in Indian television debates, only exacerbated! And some of our anchors would be happy to ignite World War III if it would increase their TRPs," the Congress leader said in a tweet.

The Pakistan PM had told Russia Today in a recent interview, “I would love to debate with Narendra Modi on TV," adding that such a talk would be beneficial to over one billion people in the Indian subcontinent if it leads to end of the Indo-Pak crisis.

India had recently said "terror and talks cannot go hand-in-hand", making it clear that it wants Pakistan to crack down on terror groups operating from its soil before holding dialogues.

According to media reports, in the interview, Khan had also said RSS ideology has taken over India, and the India he once knew does not exist anymore.
