Tinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his speech in Parliament on Monday, in which he accused the Congress of "crossing all limits" during the pandemic.

In a series of tweets, she asked, "Is a government that organised a Howdy Trump event, then asked people to bang thalis, light diyas now blaming Opposition for spreading Corona?"

"Is this special stuff available only in Himalayan caves? Just wondering."

Accusing the Congress of spreading the virus, the PM had said, “During the first wave of Covid-19, you (the Congress) gave free train tickets to migrant workers to leave Mumbai. At the same time, Delhi government told migrant workers to leave the city and provided them buses. As a result, Covid spread rapidly in Punjab, UP and Uttarakhand.”

In another tweet, the TMC MP said, “Centre tells RS today it has no idea of how many Covid bodies dumped in Ganga. Hon’ble PM takes it one step further & tells LS ‘country did not let anyone die during pandemic’.”

Commenting on Modi's laughter during the address, she wrote: "Sorry is this really the Prime Minister of India replying to the President’s Address? Is it just me but does his sinister laugh be like Mogambo Khush Hua?"

During his nearly 100-minute speech, Modi had also accused the Congress of indulging in "blind opposition" and strengthening separatism.
