Even as the Indian Medical Association (IMA) continues to demand action against Baba Ramdev for his critical comments against doctors and allopathy, the yoga guru is continuing to court controversy.
Since late on Tuesday, a video has gone viral of Ramdev, arguably, daring people to arrest him. The Telegraph reported the comments were made by Ramdev while interacting with reporters in Haridwar. “Arrest to kisi ka baap bhi nahin kar sakta Swami Ramdev ko, lekin shor macha rahe hain (Not even someone’s father can arrest Swami Ramdev, but they are making a noise),” The Telegraph quoted Ramdev as saying.
Ramdev made the comments while referring to trends on Twitter demanding his arrest over the comments against doctors. Ramdev claimed "they call me thug or maha-thug". Ramdev added he did not bother about such things.
While it is yet unclear when the comments were made, among the first verified Twitter handles to share the video was Gaurav Pandhi, national coordinator of the Congress's social media and digital communications operations. Pandhi shared the video on Tuesday night and tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
