BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday cited media reports claiming a US commander statement that China has not vacated Indian lands. "During the US Senate Committee hearings yesterday, a top US Commander stated that China has not vacated the land occupied across the LAC contrary to our MEA/minister’s statement in Parliament. After getting a copy if validly reported in today’s HT, a breach of privilege notice," he wrote on Twitter.

The Hindustan Times on Wednesday had reported a claim that China hadn’t withdrawn from forward positions it seized along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), citing US commander Philip S. Davidson statement at a congressional hearing on Tuesday. “The PLA has not yet withdrawn from several forward positions it seized following the initial clash, and the consequent escalation of tensions between the PRC and India has resulted in casualties on both sides,” Davidson said, reported the publication.

Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had announced that India and China have reached an agreement on disengagement in the North and South bank of Pangong lake in eastern Ladakh that mandates both sides to cease forward deployment of troops in a "phased, coordinated and verifiable" manner. This comes as a breakthrough after a nine-month border standoff.

Sharing details of the pact to defuse the tense military face-off in eastern Ladakh that severely strained ties between the two Asian giants, Singh also assured the Rajya Sabha that India has not conceded anything in the sustained talks with China. India will not allow even an inch of its territory to be taken by anyone, he said.
