Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Saturday that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Taking to Twitter, Chouhan said he had been showing COVID-19 symptoms for a few days.

“Countrymen, I was having symptoms and after reports came back it turned out I tested positive. I appeal to all my colleagues, whoever was in contact with me, to get their coronavirus test done. My close contacts must move to quarantine,” Chouhan tweeted.

Chouhan affirmed he had followed COVID-19 guidelines and was going into quarantine.

Chouhan also urged people of the state to be careful about the COVID-19 pandemic. Last month, BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia had tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to a hospital in Delhi.
