Burqa, hijab, kirpan to be allowed from NEET 2020

A strict dress code is in place for candidates appearing for the NEET

NEET candidates will now be allowed to wear hijab, burqa and kirpan from next year onwards, as per the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is organising the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The date for NEET 2020 has been set for May 3, 2020.

However, candidates who do wear these will have to report at the designated exam centres an hour before the gate closing time. The exam will begin at 2 pm and the gates will close at 12.30 pm. This means that candidates must report to the exam centre before 11.30 am. Wearing anything other than what is mentioned in the dress code or carrying metallic devices for medical reasons will require prior approval before admit cards are issued.

The online registration process for NEET 2020 has begun from Monday. Candidates can register online for NEET 2020 through the official website―ntaneet.nic.in. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is now the only entrance test to get admission to undergraduate medical course for MBBS and BDS in the country. The HRD ministry has prescribed that from the 2020-2021 academic session, there would only be a single entrance test—NEET.

NEET 2020 will be conducted in 11 languages and for the first time, the information bulletin will be made available in all these languages.

The application fee for NEET has been hiked from this year. For more details, check here.
