A 21-year-old man from Jaipur in Rajasthan is all set to create history by becoming the youngest judge in the country. Mayank Pratap Singh, a resident of Mansarovar in the city, cleared the Rajasthan Judicial Services exam in his very first attempt.

Singh had completed his five-year LLB from Rajasthan University in April.

Earlier this year, the Rajasthan High Court had reduced the minimum age of appearing the RJS Exam from 23 to 21. The selected candidates will enter the service as judicial magistrate after a two-year probation period.

Singh said his actual plan was to prepare properly for the RJS exam next year and that he had applied for the preliminary exam in March just to gain experience.

“Surprisingly, I passed the prelims and attempted mains in September 2019. I focused without any distractions, stayed away from the social media or browsing the internet,” he told the Times of India newspaper.

Singh said he was staying alone in Jaipur since both his parents are government teachers and posted in Udaipur.
