Union minister Babul Supriyo compared AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to controversial Islamic televangelist Zakir Naik.
According to news agency ANI, the Union minister said Owaisi is becoming second Zakir Naik. “If he speaks more than required, then we do have law and order in our country,” he was quoted as saying.
The BJP leader was reportedly reacting to Owaisi's take on the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya dispute in which the court cleared the way for the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site and directed the Union government to allot five acres of land to the Sunni Waqf Board for the construction of a mosque.
Owaisi had, on Tuesday, said AIMIM is not in favour of the five acres of land to be allocated for building a mosque as the fight was for a legal right and Babri Masjid.

"...I speak for my party,we do not want this 'khairat' (donation or charity). Our fight was for a legal right, for a Babri Masjid. Our fight was not for, to get this piece of land,” he had said.
Besides, in a recent interview to a news magazine, the AIMIM leader had said, "I want my Masjid back." “Had the masjid not been demolished, would had the mosque not been demolished, would the same judgment have come,” Owaisi said.
Zakir Naik, known for his controversial speeches, faces charges of money laundering in India, from where the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made repeated requests to Interpol and Malaysian authorities to detain the controversial preacher.
