A video clip showing a senior IPS officer in West Bengal touching Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's feet while in uniform has sparked off a political storm in the state. The video has gone viral on social media platforms after a BJP MP shared it on Twitter.
"What is happening? On duty police officer touches feet of CM. This is shameful for uniform of police as well as the Office of Chief Minister," tweeted Arjun Singh on Wednesday.

In the video, Mamata can be seen sitting on the bank of a lake and offering cake to some people. After receiving his piece, the officer touched her feet.
The BJP MP's tweet drew mixed reactions on the micro-blogging site with some people slamming the chief minister while some others hitting out at the MP.
Singh's tweet has also prompted the twitterati to share old videos of similar incidents in which people touching feet of several senor BJP leaders.
