Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reportedly expressed displeasure over the incident involving Akash Vijayvargiya, son of BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, and said such persons should be expelled from the party "no matter whose son".
The PM’s displeasure came during the BJP parliamentary party meeting in New Delhi this morning. Party leaders who were in the meeting said that "a very upset" PM Modi said such show of arrogance or misbehavior in public will not be tolerated. Modi also said that the persons who are supporting him should also be expelled from the party, sources said.
Indore MLA Akash Vijayvargiya is out on bail in the case that happened on June 26, wherein he chased a municipal corporation officer with a cricket bat and thrashed him in the presence of policemen during an anti-encroachment drive.
Later, the MLA said he had done so because the officials were misbehaving with a woman and dragging her by the feet. He did not seem to express regret about the incident even after coming out of Bhopal jail after four days. His supporters had garlanded him and even reportedly fired in the air to celebrate his release on bail.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath welcomed PM Modi’s tough stand on the issue. Talking to media persons in New Delhi, Nath said the party should take steps on the advice of the PM.
State BJP president Rakesh Singh, also an MP, could not be immediately contacted for comments as he was attending parliamentary proceedings. State BJP chief spokesman Deepak Vijayvargiya said he did not have any authorised version on PM’s reported stand and Rakesh Singh would be able to comment on it.
BJP vice-president Sudarshan Gupta, meanwhile, told local media that the party should decide the next step. Akash Vijayvargiya distanced himself from media and could not be contacted for comments. He also did not attend the BJP workers’ meet in Indore on Tuesday.
