As many as thirty-four IAS officers are facing Lokayukta probe in Madhya Pradesh for irregularities committed by them during their postings at various government departments. Many of these probes have been underway for the past six to eight years.

Besides, some 11 IAS officers are facing probe by Economic Offense Wing (EOW) of state police.

Congress MLA and former minister Ramniwas Rawat said in the state assembly that apart from IAS officers, over five IPS officers and 23 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers are also facing Lokayukta probe, yet the government hasn't tabled the report of Lokayukta for the past 15 years.

According to Lokayukta sources, the special police establishment, which functions as a wing of Lokayukta, conducted 12 raids this year. The Lokayukta received 6,267 complaints last year out of which 1,307 were registered. The organisation conducted 28 raids during 2012, 17 raids in 2013, 30 in 2014, 26 in 2015 and 21 raids in 2016.

The government, a few months ago, appointed Justice N.K. Gupta as Lokayukta after the retirement of Justice P.P. Noelekar.
