His is best remembered for his comic act in 'Welcome', where his dialogue "Meri ek taang nakli hai, main hockey ka bahut bada player hoon,' was loved by many.  

What happened to Mushtaq Khan?

Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) president BN Tiwari and All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) president Suresh Shyamlal Gupt confirmed the news of his death.  

The actor, who was undergoing treatment in Mumbai, passed away due to lung cancer. "He passed away around 7 pm on Thursday. He had been diagnosed with lung cancer earlier and had got well. However, it relapsed eight days back and he had to be admitted to the hospital. It was last-stage cancer," Khan's business partner Shivam confirmed to HT City.

What are the symptoms of lung cancer?

Lung cancer is one of the most common and serious forms of cancer, affecting millions of people worldwide. It occurs when abnormal cells in the lungs grow uncontrollably and can spread to other parts of the body.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the following are some of the symptoms of lung cancer:

  • A new cough that doesn't go away
  • Chest pain
  • Coughing up blood, even a small amount
  • Hoarseness
  • Shortness of breath
  • Wheezing

These symptoms can also occur with other medical conditions, so they do not necessarily mean a person has lung cancer. However, persistent or unusual symptoms should be evaluated by a doctor.

What causes lung cancer?

Smoking is the leading risk factor for lung cancer. However, non-smokers can also develop the disease. Exposure to second-hand smoke, air pollution and other factors may increase the risk. A family history of lung cancer and some genetic changes can also contribute.
