Nimisha Sajayan's recent role as Assistant Sub-Inspector Babita Singh in "Babita Singh Reporting" necessitated a dramatic physical transformation, involving a gain of nearly 14 kg. This extensive weight fluctuation profoundly affected her character portrayal and personal experience.

Nimisha Sajayan has mesmerised many with her latest role in Babita Singh Reporting, which demanded more than an emotional or acting transformation. Sajayan played the character of Assistant Sub-Inspector Babita Singh, where she underwent a dramatic physical makeover, gaining nearly 14 kg before filming and later embarking on a stressful yet rewarding weight-loss journey.

In an Instagram post, Sajayan revealed she went from around 58 kg to 72 kg for the role. The transformation was not merely about changing her appearance. It affected the way she walked, carried herself, dressed and even how she approached the character.

Sharing photographs documenting her transformation, Sajayan spoke candidly about the difficulties she faced during the weight-loss process. She described the first 10 days as particularly difficult, with disturbed sleep, mood swings, exhaustion and frustration. At times, the actor admitted she felt she could not continue.

"Gained almost 14 kgs for this character(58 kgs to 72 kgs) And honestly the weight loss journey that followed was a whole different story. The first 10 days were probably the toughest. No proper sleep, crazy mood swings, exhaustion, frustration… and so many moments where I genuinely felt like I couldn’t do it. There were days I would literally sit in front of my trainer and cry, saying, I can’t do this anymore," she mentioned in a social media post.

Netizens praised Sajayan for her commitment, emotional resilience and discipline that helped her immensely in her physical transformation.

" I have been following your work ever since I watched movies like Thondi muthalum Driksakshiyum, Chola, and Great Indian Kitchen, and every single character of yours has been a favorite of mine. But watching Babita Singh Reporting yesterday on Prime was something else.....such an intense, emotionally heavy character portrayed with sheer perfection. Your transformation and incredible acting were unbelievable, and I was completely immersed throughout. Huge appreciation and respect to you!" a social media user commented on her transformation post.

She credited her trainer Ali Shifas, for standing by her throughout the weight loss journey, encouraging her when she wanted to give up and reminding her to trust the process.
