The collections of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part One may have dipped in the domestic box office on Day 2 amid pre-Diwali hiccups, but it has surged past expectations abroad, minting $10 million in overseas collections in two days.
At the end of Day 2, the final overseas collections stood at around $10.05 million, which approximately 95 crore, according to Sacnilk. On Day 2, Ramayana raked in $4.65 million overseas. The main factor for strong overseas momentum is the sheer number of releases and bookings recorded in several countries.
3D and other premium formats also ensured wider appeal of Ramayana across the globe. The total worldwide gross in two days was around ₹230 crore, reports Sacnilk. Produced by Namit Malhotra (via Prime Focus Studios) and actor-producer Yash (via Monster Mind Creations) with a combined budget of ₹4,000 crore, the two-part epic has been created using state-of-the-art technology in the industry.
The English version of Ramayana, like multiple other languages in which the movie released, uses an AI-powered lip-sync technology called Brahma AI to adjust the actors' mouth movements. Because of this, North America, the UK and Australia were the top contributors during the opening days.
In North America, Ramayana's first part minted $5.5 million, followed by $1.185 million in the UK and $800,000 in Australia. Germany saw a collection of $290,000 while "Rest of Europe" raked in $325,000.
The Middle East, which has a strong Indian diaspora, saw a combined $1 million earnings for Ramayana. Nepal contributed $250,000 and "Rest of Asia and Pacific" chipped in $600,000. Another $100,000 came in from "Rest of World."
