'Mandaadi' Day 2 Box Office: Soori's biggest opening so far, surpassing 'Garudan' opening collection

This takes its two-day India net collection to ₹11.40 crore, while the India gross stands at ₹13.35 crore.
The film also performed well overseas, taking its overseas gross to ₹2.50 crore. As a result, "Mandaadi" has reached a worldwide gross of ₹15.85 crore in just two days.
Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, the Day 2 growth represented a 35.1% compared with its opening-day India net of ₹4.85 crore. The increase suggests that positive word-of-mouth is helping the film attract more audiences as the weekend progresses.
"Mandaadi" has also gained a clear advantage in its box office clash with Karthi's "Sardar 2". Over the same two-day period, "Sardar 2" only recorded a worldwide gross of ₹10.65 crore.
For Soori, "Mandaadi" has delivered the strongest opening-weekend momentum of his career as a solo lead. It has also moved well ahead of his earlier releases, nearly doubling the two-day total of "Viduthalai Part 1" and earning slightly more than "Garudan" (₹8.35 crore).
The film's trajectory is also comparable to "Maharaja", the 2024 Vijay Sethupathi thriller, which collected ₹11.20 crore net in India during its first two days. "Maharaja" eventually crossed ₹100 crore worldwide after benefiting from strong weekend growth. It remains to be seen if "Mandaadi" will reach a similar milestone.
The Tamil version remains the film's main source of revenue, but its Telugu-dubbed version is also showing impressive growth. Telugu actor Suhas, who plays the main antagonist in both versions, has helped strengthen the film's appeal in Telugu-speaking markets.
According to Sacnilk's data, the Tamil version earned ₹4 crore net on Day 1 and ₹5.45 crore on Day 2, while the Telugu version rose from ₹0.85 crore to ₹1.10 crore. This gives the film a two-day language split of ₹9.45 crore for Tamil and ₹1.95 crore for Telugu. The Telugu version alone accounts for 17.1% of the domestic net collection, highlighting its growing reach in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
