The makers of "Drishyam: The Conclusion have officially unveiled Jaideep Ahlawat’s first-look character poster, introducing him as SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar. The highly anticipated final chapter of the "Drishyam" franchise is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2026.
Ahlawat’s character is presented as a serious and determined police officer who poses a new threat to Vijay Salgaonkar, played by Ajay Devgn, and his family. In the poster, Ahlawat appears in black glasses with an intense expression. The accompanying caption delivers a clear warning to Vijay: “Ab yeh case SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar ke table par hai…” The message suggests that Rajveer is determined to reopen the case and personally bring it to a close after Vijay’s arrest.
Is Ahlawat replacing Akshaye Khanna? Apparently not. Khanna played IG Tarun Ahlawat in "Drishyam 2", but director Abhishek Pathak has clarified that Jaideep Ahlawat’s character is completely new. Rajveer Singh Tomar has been created specifically for Ahlawat and brings a different kind of challenge to Vijay.
In "Drishyam 2", Tarun Ahlawat’s investigation was driven partly by his personal connection with Meera Deshmukh, played by Tabu. Rajveer, on the other hand, is expected to be a more detached and unbiased investigator.
Khanna’s departure from the project reportedly happened shortly before filming began. Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak said the dispute involved creative and financial issues. One disagreement concerned Khanna’s request to wear a wig, which the director reportedly rejected because it could affect continuity with "Drishyam 2". Khanna also reportedly sought a fee of ₹21 crore following his recent commercial success with "Dhurandhar". According to the producer, communication later broke down, and the production house issued a legal notice after his exit.
The film is backed by Star Studios and Panorama Studios. Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor are returning, while Ahlawat and Prakash Raj are the major new additions. Prakash Raj’s role is currently being kept under wraps.
The storyline of the Hindi version, it has been confirmed earlier, will be for the first time different from the Malayalam version. Moreover, the Hindi version will conclude with the third, while the makers of the Malayalam version has announced a 4th film as well.
