“Awarapan 2” has performed strongly over its three-day opening weekend. The worldwide gross has now surged to ₹110.10 crore. The Day 3 domestic net collection reached ₹26 crore, from 9,403 shows, as per box office data reported by Sacnilk.

This number contributed to the domestic gross total of ₹98.10 crore and the domestic net total of ₹81.75 crore so far. The total overseas gross of ₹12 crore contributed to the worldwide gross collection of ₹110.10 crore.

However, this number was comparatively lower than the Sunday (Day 2) net collection, which peaked at ₹33.75 crore.

The sequel has completely outperformed the 2007 original "Awarapan", which managed only a cumulative worldwide collection of approximately ₹12 crore and was considered a box-office flop. Since it has attained a cult following over the years, the fan base helped "Awarapan 2" fare exceptionally well 19 years later, surpassing its lifetime total on the sequel's opening day alone.

This opening weekend performance has established "Awarapan 2" as the biggest solo launch and opening weekend performance for Emraan Hashmi, making it his highest-grossing solo film of all time in less than a week.

Aside from Hashmi playing Shivam Pandit (reprising his iconic anti-hero role from the 2007 film), "Awarapan 2" also features Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, and Suvinder Vicky, among others. Wamiqa Gabbi's brother Puran Gabbi plays the antagonist.

Written by Bilal Siddiqui, Vishesh Bhatt, and Sanjay Masoom, it was directed by Nitin Kakkar, who took over from the original film's director, Mohit Suri. Vishesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt produced it under the banner of  Vishesh Films.
