Holding steady with a negligible 9.9% weekday drop on Day 6, the film's Rs 58.62 crore worldwide gross has established the fact that it’s a bona fide acting debut success.
Directed by Arun Matheshwaran and starring Wamiqa Gabbi as the female lead, the film was reportedly made on an estimated total budget of over Rs 20 crore (reports vary, official figures haven't been out yet). By crossing Rs 58.62 crore globally in under a week, the film has already been declared a clean box office hit.
Unlike typical front-loaded action movies that crash on Monday, “DC” has maintained a remarkable hold so far. The Tamil version continues to be the primary revenue generator, pulling in a net of Rs 3.40 crore; the Telugu dub added Rs 1.40 crore, and the Hindi version contributed Rs 20 lakhs. Average Tamil occupancy has been registered at 32.65%, peaking during night shows at 44.69%. On Day 6, the film’s performance at the Kerala box office has also seen massive traction. The State’s collection is said to have even outperformed the film's home turf earnings on the same day.
