Prime Video has announced the official premiere date for a new Korean romantic drama series titled "A Love Other Than Yours". The screenplay comes from Yoo Su-ji ("Somehow18"), with the lead cast headlined by Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin. The former plays Namgung Ho, an outgoing assistant manager at Hunmin Snacks who believes his decade-long bond with his girlfriend is unbreakable. The latter plays Lee Mi-do, a once-promising rookie film director struggling through a career slump who is unexpectedly drawn to a new man.
Other cast members include Lee Joo-ahn as Han Tae-seung, an ambitious attorney who unintentionally complicates Mi-do's life and Jo Aram as Park Su-a, an efficient and guarded employee at Hunmin Snacks.
Per the logline, the series explores the fragile line between comfort and passion within a 10-year relationship. It follows a long-term couple standing at the crossroads of marriage when unexpected connections threaten their future. It is touted as a realistic melodrama that dives deep into whether staying together after a decade is driven by true love, habit, or survival.
Director Hwang Seung-ki and the main cast of "A Love Other Than Yours" have earlier been part of a diverse mix of romantic comedies, medical hits, and acclaimed melodramas. A celebrated television director under KBS, he is widely recognised for his visually striking framing and quirky romance narratives, which include "Into the Ring" (2020) was critically acclaimed romantic comedy focused on local politics; "The Matchmakers" (2023) is a hit Joseon-era historical romantic comedy starring Rowoon and Cho Yi-hyun; "Justice" (2019) is a dark, intense legal thriller tracking a corrupt lawyer and a man driven by revenge; and "Radio Romance" (2018) is a lighthearted, healing romance drama set in a live radio broadcasting station.
