Drishyam 3 managed to mint ₹200 crore within seven days of its release and is set to become the third highest grossing Malayalam movie in its second weekend.
Sharing a special poster, Mohanlal on Thursday celebrated the ₹200 crore entry of his latest film. "Three films. Three chapters. One unbroken bond. Thank you for walking with Georgekutty & Family. #Drishyam3," the actor wrote in his post.
On Day 6, Drishyam 3 surpassed the ₹158.5 crore lifetime earnings of Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life while on Day 7, it crossed the all-time collection of 2018 movie (₹180 crore). With this, the Jeethu Joseph directorial is now the sixth highest grossing Malayalam movie.
After reaching ₹200 crore, Drishyam 3 needs just another ₹43 crore to become the third highest grosser. Thudarum and Vaazha II have a lifetime collection of ₹234.25 crore while Manjummel Boys has a worldwide gross of ₹242.3 crore.
The highest grosser is Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra with ₹303.86 crore, followed by L2: Empuraan with ₹266.81 crore.
Drishyam 3 is also now the seventh Malayalam movie to cross 30 lakh tickets on BookMyShow. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra sold 55 lakh tickets, followed by Vaazha II (50.1 lakh), Thudarum (45.2 lakh), Manjummel Boys (43.2 lakh), L2: Empuraan (37.8 lakh) and Aavesham (30.2 lakh).
How much did Drishyam 3 collect on Day 8?
Drishyam 3 collected a net of ₹3.86 crore from 1,896 shows on Day 8 till 6 pm, according to Sacnilk. The total net domestic collection was recorded at ₹79.16 crore while the gross domestic collection was ₹91.93 crore.
On its opening day, Drishyam 3 raked in ₹15.85 crore. This slightly dipped to ₹11.05 crore on Day 2, but recovered during the first weekend, netting ₹13.7 crore on Saturday and ₹13.85 crore on Sunday. The week days naturally saw a decline, bagging ₹7.7 crore on Day 5, ₹6.5 crore on Day 6 and ₹6.65 crore on Day 7.
