‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ trailer: Samantha announces big-screen comeback in style

Directed by Nandini Reddy, the film blends family drama with intense action, showcasing Samantha in a powerful dual role against a rural backdrop

The ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ trailer dropped today, giving audiences their first glimpse into one of Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s most anticipated projects in recent years. Directed by Nandini Reddy, the film is set for a theatrical release on June 19 and marks Samantha’s return to the big screen after a notable gap.

Set against a rural backdrop, the trailer blends family drama, action, and emotional conflict, with Samantha appearing in two contrasting shades — a simple daughter-in-law by day and a fierce woman when confronted by enemies from her past.

What begins as a warm family story gradually takes a darker turn, with intense confrontations, gunfights and action sequences, hinting at one of the most physically demanding roles of Samantha’s career.

This dialogue from the trailer, “Be it a hero or a housewife, when the dialogue lands right, it can scare anyone”, quickly caught fans’ attention online. Another emotional scene shows Samantha’s character declare, “I would risk everything to keep my family safe”.

In a scene, Samantha stands before a vibrant mural of a Hindu deity, with the framing giving her a divine aura as the narrative spirals into chaos. Combined with the promotional tagline – “This GOLD is BLOODY BOLD” – the trailer leans heavily into a dramatic visual style.

While launching the trailer, Reddy addressed speculations surrounding the teaser, clarifying that the film is “not a spy or undercover film”.

“Why she is living with this family and what happened in her past – audiences will understand it only when they watch the film on the big screen,” she said.

Samantha also expressed confidence in the project, saying, “This film will definitely make all my fans proud.” Beyond acting, the film marks an important professional milestone for Samantha, as ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ is being produced under her banner, Tralala Moving Pictures, in association with Raj Nidimoru and Himank Duvvuru.

The film’s June 19 release date has also sparked online discussion about a possible box-office clash with Jana Nayagan. With anticipation steadily building around Samantha’s comeback, fans are closely tracking how the potential clash could shape the Telugu box office this summer.

For now, the trailer has succeeded in doing exactly what it needed to – placing Samantha firmly back in the spotlight with a role that looks intense, emotional and unapologetically powerful.
