After 'The Boys' conclusion, Prime Video gears up for 'Vought Rising'; premiere window announced

"Vought Rising", a new prequel series set in the world of "The Boys", has been revealed by Prime Video. It will stay true to the original show's signature gore-heavy style

Prime Video has dropped a glimpse at "Vought Rising", the new prequel series from the world of "The Boys". The reveal follows the 'diabolical' bloody conclusion of the original show. The "Vought Rising" teaser footage hints at a show as gore-heavy as "The Boys" regardless of its 1950s setting. Starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, the show is set for a premiere sometime in 2027.

"Vought Rising" is set to expand the universe further, exploring the twisted origins of Vought International, taking place roughly 70 years before the events of the flagship series. "The Boys" showrunner Eric Kripke has described it as a "noir-ish" murder mystery taking place in an alternate timeline, centred around the golden age of corporate corruption and early Cold War paranoia.

Other cast members include Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith.
Paul Grellong, who is involved as showrunner and executive producer, is backed by Kripke, who is among the executive producers along with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ori Marmur, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, and Jim Barnes.

"Vought Rising" is backed by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.

What to know about upcoming spin-off 'The Boys: Mexico'

Alongside "Vought Rising", the franchise's other major upcoming project is The Boys: Mexico. The spin-off moves the franchise outside the United States for the first time. It is a Spanish-language series set in Mexico City that explores the lives and political realities of international Supes outside Vought's traditional control, with an independent storyline set after the events of "The Boys" Season 5 series finale. It will deal with the global power vacuum left in the wake of the main show's climax.

Renowned Mexican actors Diego Luna ("Andor") and Gael García Bernal ("Magellan") are serving as executive producers and are rumoured to play minor on-screen roles. The pilot script is being penned by "Blue Beetle" writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. Other details remain tightly under wraps as the script is still being finalised.
