"Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge" has overtaken the worldwide collection of "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", taking the place of the second-highest-grossing Indian film globally, after its 39th day at the box office, according to a report in Koimoi.com
If true, this is a stellar record, considering that the Ranveer Singh movie did not receive a release in the GCC countries and China, an advantage that the Prabhas-starrer had during its full-length theatrical run. The Rajamouli film held the #2 spot among top worldwide grossers for nine years.
After a brief slump in weekday earnings, the film began to show exceptional growth in sixth weekend collections, which helped attain its current milestone. It now trails behind Aamir Khan's "Dangal", which currently ranks #1 in global earnings with a lifetime gross of Rs 2.059.04.
However, beating that number would be quite a challenge since "Dhurandhar 2" would require approximately Rs 257.24 crore to become the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
The Aditya Dhar spy saga had already dethroned "Baahubali 2" to become the highest-grossing Indian film domestically in terms of net collections, reportedly crossing Rs 1,167.63 crore mark in India.
The film performed exceptionally well for a film in its sixth week. It collected approximately Rs 3.40 crore net in India on its sixth Sunday, showing a 13.3% growth from its Saturday collection of Rs 3 crore.
By the end of the sixth weekend, its total India gross is said to have reached approximately Rs 1,377.8 crore, as per figures reported by Koimoi.com.
Along with this and another Rs 0.50 crore from international markets, the total overseas gross went up to Rs 424 crore. These earnings pushed the film's total worldwide gross to Rs 1,801.80 crore, officially surpassing the Rs 1,800 crore lifetime mark of "Baahubali 2", making it the second-highest-grossing Indian film globally.
However, a conflicting report from box office tracker Sacnilk says "Dhurandhar 2" will overtake "Baahubali 2" only by the end of this week, registering the current worldwide total at Rs 1,777.52 crore. Regardless, achieving this feat shouldn't be impossible considering the current pace of the former.
The combined worldwide gross for both "Dhurandhar" films is currently at approximately Rs 3,156.64 crore as of April 27, 2026. This milestone makes "Dhurandhar" the highest-grossing Indian film franchise of all time, placing it above not just the "Baahubali" duology (Rs 2,438 crore) but also the YRF Spy Universe (Rs 3,100 crore).
