'The Chestnut Man' Season 2 on Netflix: Streaming date, plot, and cast details of Danish crime series

Danica Curcic, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Sofie Gråbøl, and Katinka Lærke Petersen headline the new season which is based on the second book 'Hide and Seek' by Søren Sveistrup

Fans of the first season of Netflix's "The Chestnut Man" will have something exciting to look forward to. The next chapter will premiere on the platform in another two weeks.

The much-awaited second season arrives after a five-year-long hiatus. Titled "The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek", the six-episode season is based on Søren Sveistrup’s novel of the same name — the sequel to the original book.

The new season, which premieres on Netflix on May 7, reunites detectives Mark Hess (Mikkel Boe Følsgaard) and Naia Thulin (Danica Curcic), as they race against time to catch a perpetrator orchestrating a disturbing hide-and-seek game shrouded by the gloomy atmosphere of Copenhagen’s suburbs. As more victims fall prey and the number of bodies begins to pile up, the duo strives to apprehend the killer before things get worse.

The official logline is as follows: "A 41-year-old woman is reported missing, and when the police unravel her digital footprints, it becomes evident that she has been stalked for months. An unidentified perpetrator has been playing an involuntary game of hide and seek, surveilling her while sending her not only images and videos but also a seemingly innocent nursery rhyme-style counting song. When the woman is later found murdered, it becomes evident that this case can be linked to a similar, unsolved murder case of a 17-year-old high school student who was found murdered two years ago. But what is the connection between the two victims? And when will the perpetrator begin to 'play' hide and seek again?"

The principal cast is headlined by Danica Curcic, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Sofie Gråbøl ("The Killing") and Katinka Lærke Petersen ("When the Dust Settles").

Dorte W. Høgh and Emilie Lebech Kaae are involved as writers and creators, with the directing team comprised of Milad Alami (conceptual) and Roni Ezra.

Morten Kjems Hytten Juhl and Stine Meldgaard Madsen are producers, with Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen serving as executive producer.
