Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros, a coming-of-age comedy starring a young cast, has shattered the records of Kalyani Priyadarshan's Lokah: Chapter 1 and Mohanlal's Thudarum to become the fastest Malayalam film to cross Rs 100 crore in Kerala box office.
Vaazha 2 grossed Rs 100 crore in Kerala in 16 days. Thudarum was the first movie to enter Rs 100 crore club at Kerala box office in 19 days. Lokah later joined the club by achieving the feat in 24 days.
The box office momentum was accelerated mainly due to Vishu. But we can expect more records to be broken as the movie is set to enter its second weekend.
On Day 16, Vaazha 2 netted Rs 1.6 crore from 830 shows as of 5 pm, reports Sacnilk. The total net domestic collection was pegged at Rs 97.75 crore while the total gross collection in Indian box office was recorded at Rs 113.14 crore.
Vaazha 2 netted Rs 4.75 crore on its opening day on April 2 in domestic box office. It collected Rs 5.5 crore on Day 2 and Rs 7.2 crore on Day 3. It minted Rs 8.55 crore on Day 4, which is the highest daily net collection of the movie so far. The day also saw 85 per cent occupancy in theatres.
On Day 5 and 6, Vaazha 2 raked in Rs 7.1 crore each while on Day 7 it bagged Rs 7 crore. It collected Rs 7.85 crore on Day 8, Rs 6.35 crore on Day 9, Rs 7.6 crore on Day 10 and Rs 8.5 crore on Day 11.
The following week days saw the movie collecting Rs 5.05 crore on Day 12, Rs 4.9 crore on Day 13, Rs 4.85 crore on Day 14 and Rs 3.85 crore on Day 15.
