'Dhurandhar 2' box office trend hints 'Pushpa 2's' global gross record will fall in eight days

Shattering the benchmark of $7.72 million set by its own prequel 'Dhurandhar 2' has already become the highest-grossing Indian film ever in Canada

Several box office collection records are being broken by 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge'

Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) is just another ₹76.87 crore away from Pushpa 2: The Rule, which is currently the third-highest-grossing Indian movie globally. According to records, the Ranveer Singh film has made ₹1,665.23 crore at the worldwide box office after a 22-day theatrical run.

Pushpa 2: The Rule boasts a lifetime collection of ₹1,742.10 crore. Dhurandhar 2's incredible run means the Telugu blockbuster is almost certain to lose its podium spot in the weeks to come.

Above Pushpa 2 on the table stands Baahubali 2: The Conclusion's worldwide collection of ₹1,788.06 crore and Dangal's ₹2,070.30-crore record—which is the highest for any Indian movie ever.

After the movie added another ₹8.56 crore to its global total on Thursday, box office tracking website Sacnilk wrote: "This figure, while marking the lower end of its third-week weekday collections which hovered between ₹9–12 crore, demonstrates a remarkably stable hold at the box office for a film this deep into its run."

As things stand, Sacnilk predicts Dhurandhar 2's incredible run will overtake Pushpa 2's lifetime collection in six to eight days. "Given the precedent of its third weekend, which saw collections surge well past the ₹30-crore mark on Sunday, the fourth weekend is expected to contribute a significant chunk, likely in the range of ₹45–55 crore. This would leave a manageable sum of around ₹20–30 crore to be covered during the subsequent weekdays," it said.

Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2 is also the first Indian film to earn more than ₹100 crore in net Hindi collections for two consecutive days (the Saturday and Sunday of its opening weekend). A sequel to Dhar's 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar, the eponymous Ranveer Singh film was released on 19 March in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It stars Singh alongside R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
