There is another addition to the long list of records that Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) has managed to break. The Ranveer Singh-led spy-action thriller has become the fastest Indian film to enter the ₹1,500 crore club, box office data tracking website Sacnilk claimed.
Dhurandhar 2 is only the fourth Indian film to enter this elite club. The Aditya Dhar directorial achieved the monumental feat in a 16-day theatrical run—making it the fastest Indian film to hit this landmark.
Aamir Khan's sports drama Dangal sits at the top of the "Indian ₹1,500+ crore worldwide grossers" with ₹2,070 crore, followed by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which collected ₹1,788 crore. Pushpa 2: The Rule has earned ₹1,742 crore, while Dhurandhar 2 has now crossed ₹1,500 crore worldwide, with the complete collection report for Day 16 yet to be finalised.
The next major challenge for Dhurandhar 2 will be to surpass Pushpa 2's all-time collection to enter the podium. As things stand, it seems possible for the Bollywood blockbuster to collect another 250 crore or so.
Pushpa 2: The Rule was released in theatres on 5 December, with paid premieres on 4 December. The Allu Arjun film had collected ₹1,004.35 crore net in just 16 days, with its third Friday collection being around ₹13.75 crore. The film crossed ₹600 crore gross worldwide within three days of release, bringing in over ₹900 crore gross on Day 5, and crossing the ₹1,000 crore mark within one week.
