After a gigantic start in its extended four-day weekend, Border 2 exhibited drops on its weekdays. The drop on Tuesday wasn't huge but that came due to the discounted offers on ticketing platforms that helps Tuesdays to generally do well these days. In fact, Tuesdays mostly end up seeing higher footfalls than Mondays but for Border 2, Monday being Republic Day meant that the trend would obviously not repeat.
Nevertheless, Tuesday's figure of Rs 20 crore nett was strong hold as the film was coming off a four-day extended weekend of Rs 175 crore nett. However, Wednesday and Thursday saw bigger falls, and that was a bit alarming. Yes, the film is already a HIT and will surely go past the SUPERHIT tag too, but for the franchise, BLOCKBUSTER tag would have been the ideal result.
For that, Border 2 will need to go past Rs 500 crore nett in India and for now, that looks slightly difficult to attain. On its eighth day, the war drama is showing strong trends when you compare the occupancy levels to Thursday. However, there is a new release in Mardaani 3 although the Rani Mukherjee starrer has mostly only obtained screens in multiplexes and not a lot in single screens.

Morning shows had minimal drop in occupancy but from afternoon onwards, Border 2 is starting to pick up and the evening-night shows should see the film show bigger momentum across the country. Early estimates indicate a second Friday figure of about Rs 8-10 crore nett. If the film can touch the double digit mark, it will be an excellent achievement.
Border 2 is currently on track for having a solid second weekend. Trends indicate a figure of approximately Rs 30-35 crore nett. If the jumps are bigger on Saturday and Sunday, things could be even better.
