It's been a week since Dhurandhar hit theatres, and the discussions and debates — heated or otherwise — continue on social media. The chatter has gotten so aggressive and toxic that even a tweet/post praising something is met with disapproval from those who don't bother to read the text properly before commenting, leading to misunderstanding and unnecessary hate.

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, known for the action hit Kaante, was at the receiving end of vitriol when he posted a tweet praising Dhurandhar and Aditya Dhar's work. The word that triggered the negativity was 'propaganda'. In his tweet, Gupta wrote, "I finally watched #DHURANDHAR and thoroughly enjoyed it. For me, it was a ONE MAN SHOW all the way, and that man is @AdityaDharFilms. I'm not interested in all the propaganda bulls**t. I had super fun watching it in IMAX, especially the music. WELL DONE & CONGRATULATIONS to the entire team."

Sanjay, who is quite active on social media and podcast appearances, and is often known for his brutally honest takes on movies and web series, was forced to post a clarifying tweet a day later to clear the air about what he really meant in the original tweet.

“I can't believe the whole lot of id**ts abusing me for this tweet about #Dhurandhar … What I mean is that I don't think there is any propaganda in the film. Get a life, guys,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar is expected to bypass the major 'Pushpa 2' record in the second weekend. As reported earlier, it became the first Hindi film ever to register Rs 25 crore nett or above on its second Friday. The Ranveer Singh-starrer ended with astounding collections of Rs 30 crore nett.

On its ninth day, Dhurandhar had hit top gear, and with weekend ticket rates also in play, the box office is set to witness another unprecedented day at the ticket counters. Right from the morning shows, the occupancy levels have doubled for Dhurandhar.

Early estimates suggest an easy Rs 40 crore nett for the film, which is impressive considering this is in a year when Bollywood films have barely reached this figure even on their opening day. In fact, if the momentum continues, it could even surpass the Rs 45 crore nett and also reach the miracle mark of Rs 50 crore nett.
