On Tuesday, Kannada superstar Yash dropped a new poster for his upcoming Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups, which confirms the March 19, 2026 release date, putting an end to speculations concerning the team bringing out the much-anticipated gangster movie on time.

There were earlier rumours of the Geetu Mohandas diretorial being plagued by production problems, with certain social media accounts and portals floating speculations on "conflicts" between Mohandas and Yash. However, the production house behind the film, KVN Productions, had dismissed them, informing fans that the team is engaged in completing the final portions of the shoot and they plan to commence full-fledged promotions in Jan 2026.

In an earlier statement to entertainment outlet Variety, writer-director Mohandas said they are "crafting a story that will not only entertain but also deeply connect with hearts and minds worldwide."

Bankrolled by Yash's company Monster Mind Creations and Venkat K Narayana's KVN Productions, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups will also be dubbed and released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

The film boasts an international technical team that comprises action choreography veteran JJ Perry, known for his work in films such as Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained and a couple of John Wick films.

Veteran cinematographer and filmmaker Rajeev Ravi (also Geetu's spouse) is the director of photography. A filmmaker in his own right, known for the Malayalam hits Annayum Rasoolum, Njan Steve Lopez, and Kammattipadam, Rajeev is noted mostly for his critically acclaimed collaborations with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

The visual effects is handled by the firm Double Negative (DNEG) which contributed to some high-profile projects such as Christopher Nolan's Inception, Tenet, and Interstellar, and Denis Villeneuve's two Dune films and Blade Runner 2049.
