'The Boys' Season 5 streaming date: Prime Video announces 2026 episode schedule

The new season will see Butcher armed with a Supe-killing virus, Homelander in complete control, and the team scattered. The first look at the epic conclusion also features Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles

We finally have a premiere date for the fifth and final season of The Boys, announced on Saturday. At a special panel for the show at CCXP Brazil, creator Eric Kripke and The Boys team announced that the first two episodes will begin streaming on April 8, followed by an episode each week. The finale has been scheduled for May 20.

A first teaser trailer has also been unveiled.

What happens in 'The Boys' Season 5?

As per the official logline, “In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp.’ Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.”

One of the welcome moments from the trailer is the reunion of Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid), Annie (Erin Moriarty) and The Boys, possibly to embark together on the perilous mission at hand.

Other principal cast members include Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, alongside Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, and Valorie Curry.

The show is based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s popular comic book series of the same name.
