After a sensational opening weekend, 'Dies Irae' is showing superstrong trends on the weekdays

'Dies Irae' is set for an excellent opening week globally

Pranav Mohanlal's latest release Dies Irae is rocking at the box office. The horror thriller directed by Rahul Sadasivan has received extremely positive reviews from viewers and the strong word-of-mouth is translating into phenomenal box office collections.

In its opening weekend, Dies Irae collected Rs 15.38 crore from Kerala while the rest of India contributed a handsome figure of Rs 4.31 crore. It took the domestic opening weekend numbers to Rs 19.69 crore and worldwide gross for the first three days stood at Rs 38-39 crore approximately.

The real test was going to be the hold on its first Monday and Dies Irae passed that test with flying colours as it collected Rs 2.80 crore at the Kerala box office. The four-day collections in the home state stood at Rs 18.20 crore and Tuesday's trends suggest another rock solid day for Dies Irae.

The advance booking for the film continues to be strong and the first week collections should comfortably cross Rs 50 crore globally, making it a hat-trick of Rs 50 crore worldwide grossers for Pranav. He would be only the second Mollywood actor to achieve this feat after his superstar father Mohanlal.

Early estimates indicate that the five-day Kerala gross of Dies Irae would be around Rs 21 crore with a minor variation of 5-10 percent expected either ways depending on how the night shows go. Till now, the night shows have performed admirably well and the favourable genre has also helped in this regard.

The five-day India gross for Dies Irae would be around Rs 27 crore.
