Ahead of the much-anticipated re-release of the remastered form of Baahubali: The Epic on October 31, filmmaker SS Rajamouli and actors Prabhas and Rana Daggubati sat down for a group interview to recall the experience of shooting the magnum opus, the stress and pressures they had to endure, and what audiences can expect from the re-edited cut of the epic.
Rajamouli revealed that the final remastered version, now at 3 hours 43 minutes, is driven more by emotion and story, with potentially impeding portions removed. These cuts include parts of the Avanthika-Shivudu love story featuring Prabhas and Tamannaah Bhatia, the songs 'Pacha Bottesina', 'Kanna Nidurinchara', and 'Irrukupo'. Some battle sequences were also trimmed.
The new version, he added, is "purely story-driven" and was edited with the audience feedback from test screenings in mind. The combined version initially ran for 4 hours and 10 minutes, but eventually shortened to the aforementioned length. Fans also expect to witness previously unseen footage in some portions.

Had the makers opted to combine the films released in 2015, the final length would've resulted in a 5-hour 27-minute runtime instead of the aforementioned length.
The decision should be a relief to fans who felt the original version could’ve been improved without the unnecessary portions.
An epic spanning multiple generations, the Baahubali films were born out of Rajamouli's love for classic mythological and comic book stories. He created the screenplays based on a story by V. Vijayendra Prasad. MM Keeravani produced the chart-busting original music and background score.
The newly remastered and re-edited version will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam, in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, D-BOX, 4DX, EPIQ, ICE (Immersive Cinema Experience) THEATERS, and PCX (the biggest screen in India at Prasads, Hyderabad).
Aside from Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, the blockbuster also features Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Nassar, and Sathyaraj, among others. The fantasy epic was made on a budget of Rs 180 cr and grossed Rs 650 cr worldwide. Baahubali: The Beginning won two National Awards — Best Feature Film and Best Special Effects.
