Kantara Chapter 1 crossed Rs 800 crore in worldwide collection, becoming the highest grossing Indian film in 2025, according to a report.
The Rishab Shetty movie has also surpassed Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, which had a lifetime collection of Rs 807 crore, according to the Hindustan Times.
Hombale Films reported that Kantara Chapter 1 earned Rs 717 crore in the first two weeks in worldwide collection. After the third weekend, it added Rs 92 crore, taking the total collection to Rs 809 crore worldwide, the outlet reported.
But Sacnilk has reported that Kantara Chapter 1 collected Rs 773.5 crore till Wednesday. This includes gross domestic collection of Rs 664.85 crore and overseas collection of Rs 108.65 crore.
The net domestic collection till Wednesday was Rs 557.5 crore. This includes Rs 180.1 crore from Kannada, Rs 189.15 crore from Hindi, Rs 87.15 crore from Telugu, Rs 58 crore from Tamil and Rs 43.1 crore from Malayalam, reported Sacnilk.
The second-week collection was Rs 147.85 crore in net India earnings. Hindi raked in Rs 54.25 crore, Kannada Rs 45.7 crore, Tamil RS 18.3 crore, Telugu 18.15 crore and Malayalam Rs 11.45 crore.
In the first week, Kantara Chapter 1 minted Rs 337.4 crore, including Rs 106.95 crore from Kannada and Rs 108.75 crore from Hindi. It earned Rs 63.55 crore from Telugu, Rs 31.5 crore from Tamil and Rs 26.65 crore from Malayalam.
Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1 is prequel to the first Kantara installment, as it dives deeper into the folklore on the region. It is written and directed by Rishab Shetty, who has also starred in the movie.
