The sequel to the NTr Jr-starrer Devara - Part 1 is officially moving forward. The makers confirmed the development on the film's one-year anniversary.
Given the 'Part 1' in the title and the events that closed the first film, a follow-up was expected sooner or later. Co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, and directed by Koratala Siva ("Janatha Garage", "Srimanthudu"), the big-budget epic was bankrolled by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts. The film marked Khan's Telugu acting debut.
Sharing the announcement on their social media handles, the makers wrote: "It's been one year since HAVOC struck the shores, trembling every coast and the name the world remembers is #DEVARA Be it the FEAR it unleashed or the LOVE it earned, the streets will never forget. Now gear up for #Devara2."
The action-packed tale of a village chieftain's son continuing the journey once undertaken by father also features actors Shine Tom Chacko, Prakash Raj and Srikanth.
It was 2024's third highest-grossing Telugu entertainer worldwide, earning a total of over Rs 500 crore. Its music, most notably the "Chuttamalle" track featuring NTR Jr and Janhvi Kapoor, dominated the charts.
Meanwhile, NTR Jr, last seen in War 2 with Hrithik Roshan, is hard at work on his first collaboration with KGF and Salaar director Prashanth Neel. A while ago, a workout video of the actor. As per reports, it is reportedly titled Dragon.
