Pawan Kalyan's latest release, They Call Him OG, released on Thursday (September 25) worldwide to largely mixed reviews. The action thriller is Sujeeth's third directorial after Run Raja Run and Saaho, and his second successive Tollywood biggie after the Prabhas-starrer. In fact, They Call Him OG has subtle hints to suggest that one or more of Sujeeth's future films could have the characters from this film and Saaho to cross over.
Meanwhile, Sujeeth is set to move on to his next project, the details of which have already floated around the internet in the last month. The film, reportedly titled as Bloody Romeo, features Nani in the lead role and is touted to be another film in the action zone but with a high dose of black comedy as well. In one of his interviews, Sujeeth explained why he needed to change his genre of films a bit in the coming years.
"It (the Nani project) will be a witty action entertainer with dark humour in Nelson’s style," said Sujeeth.
"I feel violent films will reach a saturation point within a year or two. Hence, I decided to shift genres while still retaining the gangster template.”
Despite the underwhelming results of Saaho and mixed feedback to They Call Him OG, there is no denying that Sujeeth is a director with loads of potential. Therefore, fans are understandably excited about his collaboration with Nani and there are new rumours of a strong Mollywood addition to the film. Prithviraj Sukumaran, noted Malayalam actor and director-producer is allegedly set to join the film's cast with an announcement expected in the coming months. According to sources, the initial round of discussion has happened but no details have been divulged yet.

This isn't the first time that Sujeeth and Prithviraj have had a solid interaction. When the latter's directorial debut Lucifer was to be remade in Telugu, Sujeeth was considered as one of the first choices for it, regardless of what panned out with Saaho. Directing a star of Chiranjeevi's magnitude was a priceless opportunity but Sujeeth explained how a chat with Prithviraj made him decide against doing the remake.
“When I spoke with Prithviraj Sukumaran, he told me that Saaho was an inspiration for the world-building of Lucifer," said Sujeeth in an interview with Gulte.
"That’s when I realized, why should I remake a film that was inspired by my own?”
Given the immense camaraderie that Sujeeth has with Prabhas, and Prabhas's strong bond post-Salaar with Prithviraj, chances of Prithviraj featuring in a Sujeeth film is only a matter of time. As things stand, Friday Matinee has mentioned on X that Bloody Romeo could well be that project. The film is expected to go on floors in November this year, aiming at a 2026 release.
