Jolly LLB 3, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, opened to largely positive reviews on September 19. While the first day collections of Rs 12.50 crore was underwhelming in today's era, it still was a decent start for a content-oriented film. Especially when you factor in the post-pandemic dynamics of the box office for content-oriented films.
With the word-of-mouth doing its job, Jolly LLB 3 showed superb growth on its second day, tallying Rs 19.50 crore, which was a surge of more than 50 percent from the first day. Ideally, the film needed to show a growth of about 20-25 percent from Saturday on its third day but that didn't happen. The India-Pakistan cricket match in the Asia Cup was a factor as the evening and night shows didn't pick up as expected. The film had taken a bigger start on Sunday than its first day days with an average jump of 20 percent in occupancy for the morning and noon shows. With that same trend, it could perhaps have clocked Rs 22-23 crore but ultimately, it ended with Rs 20 crore on its third day.
It still meant a weekend of approximately Rs 52 crore, which is a solid start for a film of this genre in post-pandemic times. The disappointing news, however, is that Jolly LLB 3 has shown a big drop in collections on its first Monday across India. The first working day is always the litmus test for any film, especially one that hasn't had a very big opening weekend. Ideally, Jolly LLB 3 should be collecting about 75-80 percent of its first day collections if not more to have hopes of a long run at the box office. That, though, is far from reality at the moment.
On its fourth day, Jolly LLB 3 has opened to an embarrassing average occupancy of about 6-7 percent across India. Friday's morning shows had an occupancy of 12-13 percent but on weekdays, the ticket prices also drop to normal rates, which means a further drop in collections. Noon shows have also not shown much of a jump, with the occupancy ranging in 10-12 percent. Friday had 20 percent, Saturday 40 percent and Sunday 60 percent for the same shows. From these samples, it is clear that the film is experiencing a big crash on its fourth day. Unless the film has extraordinary evening and night shows, it seems like that its fate is sealed.

As per early estimates, Jolly LLB 3 is heading for about Rs 5-5.50 crore net on its fourth day. Ideally, it needed the figure to be around Rs 9-10 crore net for having a long run at the box office. Now, to avoid flop status, it will have to hope that the weekdays remain stable, even if on the lower side, and then hope for a rise in collections during the second weekend.
